Ancient Hebrew World
What could this word mean in its own time and place?
Early prototype · not a launched app
A word belongs to a world.
Ancient Hebrew World explores learning through the relationship between language, texts, objects and places. It is intended for curious learners who want to examine context, rather than treat a modern translation as the whole story.
An encounter, then a study.
The intended journey starts with a word, opens its textual and material surroundings, and lets the learner gather a study to return to. Evidence, interpretation and reconstruction should remain visibly distinct.
Illustrative journey
- Encounter a word in its script and a particular passage.
- Compare a textual witness, an object and a historical setting.
- Keep a question with the sources that prompted it.
This describes the product direction. The early prototype uses synthetic content; this is not a finished corpus or a scholarly conclusion.
What needs to come next.
The next useful demonstration would connect one bounded learning journey to identified primary sources and show how an interpretation changes when the evidence changes.
